I’m sitting in the Chicago O’hare aiport waiting on my friend Carmen to arrive from San Antonio. Our flights were close enough to warrant waiting to share a cab. I’m excited for a few girly hours complete with Chicago style pizza, a beer or two, and plenty of shopping before our meetings starts tomorrow afternoon. I was reading Women’s Health on the plane and ran across several interesting tidbits that I will comment on over the next few days or weeks, I’m sure. The first is that there is a 28% increase in muscle endurance after consuming caffeine. I think that was the universe’s way of validating my addiction. I mean come on, the same day I start a blog admitting to the bliss that coffee brings me is the same day I read it actually helps with workouts. Wow! My one “unhealthy” vice no longer constitutes as “unhealthy”, right? 🙂 I already got a clear on red wine from many an article on it’s heart benefits and the antioxidant power of dark chocolate is well documented.. Now it seems I can sip the joe and vino to my little hearts content. Bonus…chocolate is the perfect compliment to both. Jackpot! Unfortunately, since I prefer my coffee post workout, I’m not sure it’s as valid an argument, but I’m going with it.
