Happy St. Patty’s Day! I am in no way Irish, though Scottish blood flows through my veins. That’s close right? And my favorite color is green, so that’s one more step closer. I did make sure to pack green clothes for my meeting today and also for the evening activities.
Notice the green phone 🙂 I’m new to this blogging thing, so unfortunately I forgot to bring my camera on the trip. I did, however, figure out today I could use my Iphone. Pictures of yesterday’s adventures were taken by my friend Carmen and her camera. I will post those later when she sends them to me. We acted like total tourists and felt no shame in it. Anyway, back to the holiday at hand. Here in Chicago this is apparently a big holiday as lots of people claim Irish ancestry. They dye the river green (which I heard on the news this morning is actually done with orange vegetable dye…how does that make green?). They also light up the top of the Sears Tower and several other buildings in green lights. What a perfect place to spend such a holiday. I may not get the opportunity to eat true Irish food since I am at the mercy of catering when in meetings all day, but I did make a point to have a green-themed snack this afternoon.
That brings me to my first product review. Obviously I am generally a coffee as opposed to tea drinker, but after a coffee and kahlua at last night’s dinner (pictures to come) and a Starbucks nonfat latte for my morning snack today in addition to my normal everyday cups of coffee, I though maybe just maybe I should switch to tea. The hotel had the cutest little teas from Tea Forte. The packaging was great and the bag had a little green leaf instead of a plain old string. So cute! I’m no tea connoisseur, but I thought it tasted pretty good, too. And the Jasmine Green flavor inspired me to grab a green pear to complete the perfect St. Patrick’s Day snack.
