The rain rain has gone away! It is beautifully sunny here today, though still pretty cold. The wind is pretty brutal, too, but it’s a gorgeous day all the same. We woke up around 8 (props for sleeping “late) and immediately (well, immediately after brewing the coffee) began our Sunday cleaning ritual. We like to get it over with and my helpful hubby makes it go by much faster. I took on the bathrooms and kitchen while he vacuumed and mopped. I hate to do the floors. It is definitely my least favorite chore. Luckily Mr. Coffee doesn’t mind it. Such a perfect pair 🙂
Breakfast quickly followed the cleaning spree as I had worked up quite an appetite. Truth be told I am always hungry as soon as I wake up. It actually might be the main reason why I wake up with no alarm. I whipped up my favorite weekend breakfast…sausage, egg, and cheese bagel done my way.
I toasted an onion Western Alternative Bagel and spread it with some fat-free philly topped with a Morningstar Farms veggie sausage patty and an egg white. I love the Morningstar brand and their sausage patties are awesome! I’m not a vegetarian, but I don’t like real sausage and these for some reason work for me.
Jensen and I both sat down post-chores to have a lazy Sunday morning. He cozied up with his sports chat rooms and ESPN while I surfed the blogosphere. It is nice to get all the not fun necessary to-dos done early on. Sunday is usually the only day we both have off, so though we both have things we have to do, we want the majority of the day left to just hang.
Do you have a designated chore day or do you do it throughout
Lunch today was one of my new faves. I made chicken salad with greek yogurt and black bean salsa and stuffed it in half a toasted Western Alternative wheat pita. I love all the Western Alternative products as is evidence by their appearnace in both breakfast and lunch today. They are lower carb, high fiber, and fairly good protein. I also think they taste great!
I also had broccoli coleslaw mix with Newman’s Own Low fat Sesame Ginger dressing. That’s a quick salad idea I got from Hungry-Girl a LONG time ago and have most days of the week. My something sweet was my second favorite apple (just behind Honeycrisp), the Pink Lady.
I’m not sure what the rest of the afternoon holds, but I have a feeling most of it will be spent in the kitchen or downstairs on my reading couch. Mr. Coffee is chillin upstairs with March Madness this afternoon which leaves me to entertain myself. Baking and reading magazines or a good book sounds perfect and a run will probably sneak its way in as well. I get bored easy, so typically some sort of physical activity is necessary 🙂
