It has been a beautiful morning around here, and I got in a nice sweaty yoga class around lunch. It always feels so good to step out of the humid, hot room and feel that first blast of cool air. So refreshing! The class I usually go to on Fridays is called Fire and as you can imagine, any air feels cool after that. I have been going to Sunstone yoga for over a year and always feel refreshed after a class. I do several types, but the Fire somehow makes you feel clean even though you are all sweaty. I guess that whole detox idea works. The one I do on Monday and Friday is only 60 minutes and then Weds, i do the 90 minute version.
Lunch was another trip south of the border with some Ole chicken salad. Really, it’s just rotisserie chicken, greek yogurt as a sour cream sub and salsa. I usually use a black bean salsa, but I had a new mango lime one I wanted to try. I guess I was still in the mango mood from the morning and I like to try new things. Yum! Broccoli coleslaw with Newman’s Own Low Fat Sesame Ginger dressing also made an appearance.
The grand finale and my something sweet was strawberries topped with Dark Chocolate Dreams. I just tried this stuff for the first time and OH MY GOODNESS! It was chocolate covered strawberries with a PB twist. Very indulgent.
Now I’m headed back to work and then have a 4 hour drive ahead to my hometown of Tyler. I was born there and lived there in the exact same house until the day I moved to college. My parents still live there in that same house. I’m going to run in the Azalea Trail 10K with my dad and brother tomorrow morning just like we have every year. It is sorta tradition. Downtown Tyler has old red brick streets and this time of year that area is famous for their flowers. The Azalea Trail brings in lots of toursits and the run is through some of the prettiest areas of town.
It is supposed to be a perfect sunny day and I can’t wait!
