I have a love hate relationship with mangos and pineapple. Love to eat (LOVE!)/hate to peel and core. What’s a girl to do?
Previously, my hand armed with a paring knife was the champion in fruit peeling and chopping.
However, the fruit in question (mangos/pineapples) did not go down without a fight and got in many good punches on multiple occasions. Cut fingers…stained shirts…sticky, messy kitchen counters and floors…and several rounds of buying more expensive pre-cut fruit. The pineapples and mangos around here were worthy opponents. As of today, though, there are two new heavyweights joining the fray. TKO!
These fun gadgets arrived in the mail yesterday. I have only used the mango corer since a grocery run is needed to get a whole pineapple, but so far I’m happy with this arrival from Amazon.
Gadgets get the job done! I’m not really a gadget person (don’t like a lot of crap around) except in the kitchen. I have two rather inexpensive ones that have saved me tons of time and are my current faves. The first is the GarlicZoom
And then there’s the Fusionbrands poach pods
Have you seem “Runaway Bride”? Remember where Richard Gere asks Julia Roberts how she likes her eggs and she realizes she always likes them however the man in her life likes them. She sets out to find HER favorite. I don’t remember what hers was, but mine is definitely poached. With the little pods above, poaching is a cinch. In fact, I’ve never tried it without these aides, but I hear it’s hard.
Ok, so the “Runaway Bride” reference was really random, but what pops in my head ends up on the post for your reading pleasure. Aren’t you lucky?! 🙂
How do you like your eggs?
