I decided to tackle home-made cleaning products today. I have always been interested in this and have switched over to green products in the past few years. Even greener than store-bought “green” would be home-made.
I needed to give the kitchen counters a good scrub since it seems with all the goings on in there, they are constantly sticky, stained, or otherwise soiled. What’s the solution? Lemon + baking soda which, to continue this morning’s discussion, happens to be another winning combo.
Simply cut the lemon in half and dip it in the baking soda
All that’s left is scrubbing away at the countertop. I squeezed a little to get some of the juice to flow out. Lemony fresh all over the kitchen! I wiped it down really well after with a wet sponge and that was that. What a great tip! Do I dare show you what the lemon looked like after?
That was my lunchtime activity today. Fun, huh? 🙂
I also ran to Costco during lunch to grab a few things like z-bars, gum, pink lady apples, and Check-ups for the dogs (could it be a more random list) and came across a great big (as everything is at Costco) dog bed perfect for our great big dog. It is filled with cedar and smells awesome. Gus (the great big dog) already has this same bed from Costco, but the wishes-he’s-a-great-big- dog (we let him think so), Tucker, steals it most nights. It was time to purchase another. Well, I dropped it off at home during lunch and just left it in the kitchen since that’s where I spent most of my lunchtime and when I got home this afternoon….
Ringo, not the great-big-dog or the wishes-he’s-a-great-big-dog, but the Goldilocks cat had found the bed and was chillin in the kitchen where he NEVER is unless he’s being fed. Please tell me I’m not going to have to get a third HUGE animal bed.
Last but not least was a welcome surprise when I arrived home after a day of the grind. I bought some lillies this past weekend to cheer up the house. I bought them with all blooms closed tight so they would last longer, but didn’t think they would take very long to open. It had been three days and when I left this morning they still looked like this…
And when I got home…
Big smiles! Pretty lillies make me happy! 🙂
