I had another rush-out-of-the-house morning. I got up a bit earlier and got in a good HIIT workout similar to the others I have posted. I’m trying to do those types of cardio workouts on Tuesday and Thursday and then I do a multiple machine (elliptical, treadmill run, and bike) on Mon, Wednesday and Friday. All are around an hour and I like the variety. I then just do a nice leisurely hourish run outside on the weekends. I want to be able to run forever, so I think it’s a good idea to not wear or burn myself out at 29. Mixing it up seems to help.
I made a good ole bowl of oats to take on the road and it was the perfect recovery breakfast.
In the oats this morning:
1/4c Bob Red Mills 5-grain hot cereal
2T oat bran
3/4c water (for cooking the oats)
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
2T almond milk just to moisten it a bit more once I mixed it up.
Chocolate heaven! It made my rushed morning much better.
I realized as I was deciding what to add to my morning mix that I have a ridiculous number of different types of oats and hot cereal. I have steel cuts, Bob Mills 5-grain hot cereal, old-fashioned oats, Silver Palate thick and rough oatmeal, oat bran, and Flax N Snax butter pecan hot cereal. I tend to like to use several kinds in one bowl these days.
