While doing my weekend weekly grocery run (which somehow never ends up being the only run of the week), I found a new Morningstar Farms product. I LOVE Morningstar Farms. My favorite burger replacement is their spicy black bean burger and I often use the sausage patties in breakfast sandwiches. Their veggie friendly remakes of typically animal heavy products always seem to turn out right.
The word NEW caught my eye on one package in particular and I looked more closely to see what they’ve come up with this time. California Turk’y burger!
A turkey tastin burger patty with avacado and tomato. Whaaaatttt?! I’m in! Gimme Gimme!
I baked up one of these babies in the oven at lunchtime and cut it into bitesize pieces. I threw that on top of some mixed greens with a dollop of greek yogurt as a sour cream sub, a sprinkling of shredded cheddar, and a scoop of mango salsa as dressing.
Holy Wow! I’m putting my stamp of approval on these new burgers.
I also tried another new product as an afternoon snack. This one is more new to me than new in general, but definitely new to my blog and up for review. I had a Chobani pomegranate greek yogurt.
I have to say when it comes to plain greek yogurt my loyalties lie with Fage, but when its a fruity version I’m craving, Chobani wins hands down. I have never really been a fruit on the bottom yogurt lover because the mix-in was too much like jelly and overly sweet. These are perfect on sweet and even have little chunks of fruit (pomegranate seeds in this case) in them so its not just a fruity tasting syrup. Two winning newbies in one day! Foddie delight!
