I had a hard time waking up this morning. I was actually awake about 15 minutes before the alarm went off, so the waking up wasn’t the problem. I was just so cozy and comfortable that I could’ve just stayed there forever. That’s rare for me since once I’m awake I’m usually too restless to just lay around, but not today. Good thing it’s Monday 😦
I did force myself out from under the covers and headed to the gym for my hour of cardio. It was a good workout and I felt much better after. I ran 6 miles on the treadmill at varying speeds for an average pace of 7:50.
Along with my 1/2 mile to and from the gym, I got in a total of 7 miles before a few ab and arm exercises including tricep dips, pushups, plank, and my new favorite exercise, the swiss ball leg raise and dumbbell fly from last Thursdays workout. That sucker works upper body, abs, and butt and legs as you squeeze the ball to lower and raise it. Love it!
After my scramble out of bed and to the gym, what better fuel than and egg white scramble.
I “fried” (cooking spray and a hot pan) up and chopped a few slices of canadian bacon and then added three egg whites. I topped the scramble with some Sargento reduced fat cheddar (a great line of reduced-fat cheese, by the way) and 1/4 of an avocado. Protein packed and perfect for a reluctant participant in Monday.
