This morning’s carrot (aka coffee) that got me through my workout with anticipation of it waiting for me at the end got a little crazy. Instead of my normal skim milk/unsweetened vanilla almond milk combo, I….wait for it…used unsweetened CHOCOLATE Almond Breeze. Watch out! I’m tellin ya, this creature of habit is branching out 🙂
I do love the chocolate version of my beloved almond milk but honestly hadn’t bought it in a long time. Almond Breeze was $1 off of two at the grocery store last week, so I bought one vanilla and one chocolate (I already had an extra vanilla in the pantry, so there was no need for two vanilla). Lovin me some rediscovery. Its great in chocolate protein shakes, in chocolate oats, on cereals like peanutbutter Puffins, and clearly coffee.
As I was heating this chocolatey goodness on the stove so it didn’t cause my steaming coffee to become lukewarm (one of my biggest dislikes is lukewarm coffee), I had a Cheshire cat style grin on my visage.
Why? We FINALLY ordered a microwave and I just got an e-mail saying it had arrived in the store and is ready for pickup. My days of heating my milk over the stove are coming to an end.
We are replacing the venthood over our stove with a vented microwave and it has only taken us a year and a half since we moved in to get around to it.
Yay! This also means less wasted food since I can reheat leftovers without the pain of heating up the oven and can steam veggies without pulling out the HUGE steamer pot. Oh technology how I love you!
