I’m not a huge workout video fan since, in general, they don’t seem that difficult and I lose interest quickly. It’s hard to stay motivated when I’m at home. I always look around and see other things I need to be doing. That all changed after finally giving Jillian’s Shred a try and loving it. Though they are still something that I use in addition to my normal workouts, I’m open to trying others. Enter Physique 57. While fellow blogger and good friend Kelly is at the beach (JEALOUS!), she let me borrow her Physique 57 DVD.
I popped Physique in the DVD player yesterday afternoon. Holy hips and thighs! Oh, and don’t forget the butt. I’m not since it’s been yelling at me all morning. I have to say I almost had to mute the woman since she was a bit too peppy for me. I’m not a rah rah type girl. That being said, her workout is killer on hard to reach areas that seem to be problem spots for most women. I’m not sure it’s my fave, but it could create a lot less stressful swimsuit season.
My work it out (soreness be gone workout) this morning was unusual for me. Typically once I start running, I keep going. Today, though, I ran the half mile to the gym and then jumped on the treadmil for a HIIT 2 miles. I then rode the bike for 10 minutes, then back on the treadmill. 2 more HIIT miles followed by 10 final minutes back on the bike. A half mile back home and the hour was DONE!
I’m recouping with a bowl of chocolate oats and a good ole cup o’ joe. Perfection.
In the Bowl:
1/4 c Bobe Red Mills 5 grain hot cereal
2T steel cut oats
2T oat bran
1T flax seed meal
1T chia seeds
Above cooked in 1/2 unsweetened chocolate Almond Breeze, 1/2c brewed coffee, 1/4c water. I added the steel cuts first and cooked them for about 10 minutes before adding the other ingredients and then cooked it all for another 10 minutes
A scoop of chocolate protein powder added at the end and the chocolate creation was complete.
