Today has been a sweaty one. I started my morning off by sending my husband off to work (BOO 😦 ) and fixing a nice cup o joe. Shortly after, caffeinated and ready to run, I headed out the door for a 7 miler around the hood. I kept an 8 minute pace and intended on only going 6, but I guess that cup of coffee gave me a little energy to spare. During the week my caffeine fix comes post cardio, but on Saturdays I have time to get it in first. In fact, I wasn’t even out of bed yet when the coffee cravings set in so there was no delaying it.
I rinsed off the sweat off from the run, made a quick chocolate banana protein shake and threw on my yoga gear. Mass sweating was in my future as I was joined by miss Kelly and we headed to 90 minutes in the 98 degrees and humidity of hot yoga. Toxins didn’t stand a chance in this body as I finished up my Saturday morning Mission Get-yo-sweat-on. Feels nice!
I changed in outfit #3 of the day (is a swimsuit an “outfit”?) and made a quick fix turkey sandwich and cut up veggies (carrot sticks, broccoli, orange bell pepper strips, and yellow cherry tomatoes) for lunch. The pool was next on my list. Hot Texas day = further sweating. As I sat down for lunch, though, I looked out the window and what did I see?
Can you tell what that is? Need a closer look?
Rain Rain Go Away! And it did. Luckily it was a short shower lasting only long enough for me to devour my nourishment and the sun followed closely behind. I spent an hour and a half poolside while Jensen finished up his workday and headed home around 3 to join him on the couch for the USA/England World Cup soccer game we taped from earlier in the day. Soccer I can get into. The fans are loud and rowdy and it pumps me up! WOOHOO! Plus Jensen played all his life so its fun to watch it with him and the games are relatively short as sports go. A plus in my book.
Following the FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) game, we are off to dinner with Kelly and Keith at one of their favorites restaurants (Glorias). We’ve never been there but they rave, so we are pumped to give it a go. Plus good company is a never-miss 🙂
Oh and side note since I’m typing this as I watch the game: David Beckham is in my top 5. You know on the laminated card. Just so you know. No, he isn’t playing (hurt his achilles and probably somewhat past his futbol prime anyway), but he’s there looking dapper in a 3-piece suit and that alone is enough to get me excited about soccer 🙂
